Paul Kitchin

I have been involved as a volunteer coach at Cockermouth Junior Football Club since my son started playing for the under 7’s in September 2017. In 2019, my daughter started playing for the girls under 10’s team, I will be coaching her team as she moves to the under 12’s in September.

A lifelong football fanatic, I have amazing memories of my days playing youth football. The teachers and volunteer coaches provided some unique opportunities and their tuition continually developed my knowledge and enjoyment of the game.

I was born in the North East and lived in Durham City for the first 12 years of my life, followed by two years in Bristol and finally to my parents’ home of Cumbria in my mid-teens. I have lived and worked in Cockermouth since 2000.

As well as sport I have had a lifelong obsession with drawing, design and construction. From a very young age I have indulged each of these interests academically and practically. The years I spent working on site for local contractors proved invaluable when in 2001 I began a new career as an Architectural Designer with Green Design Architects.

In 2012, I co-founded WK Design Architects. A thriving local business we are working with schools, community groups, businesses and private individuals across Cumbria and beyond. I am delighted to be putting my skills and experience to good use and look forward to working with the club to develop a clubhouse at Tarn Close. I sincerely hope that this is just the start of the club’s development plan and much needed improvements to the town’s sports facilities.
