Directions To CJFC Pitches

(Pitches are located at Cockermouth School, Castlegate Drive, CA13 9HF). View Map

Due to the recent flooding Main Street , Main Street Bridge and Gote Road Bridge are closed. Please use the following directions to the pitches.

Directions from Oakhurst Roundabout - Sheep and Wool Centre on the A66.

Take A5086 exit towards Cockermouth. Past the ESSO Garage on left hand side.
Continue along Lamplugh Road towards the Town Centre to a set of traffic lights, go straight on and over the mini roundabout to the next lights at Sainsburys. Head away from town towards Lorton/Buttermere over the bridge and up the hill. Where the road turns sharpe right, turn Left onto Windmill lane and Left again imediatley down Kirkgate. At the bottom of Kirkgate, single traffic only, turn right into Market Place then right onto Castlegate Drive and follow the road up the hill heading out of the town. You will see the school on the left once you have passed all the houses.

To avoid the traffic congestion in the town caused by the road closures, leave the A66 at Embelton and follow the road into Cockermouth. The school is on the right.

Directions from Papcastle Roundabout on the A595.(From Maryport-Carlisle)
At Roundabout take the exit towards Cockermouth.
Drive downhill towards town - BEWARE SUDDEN CHANGE TO 30 MPH - THERE IS OFTEN A SPEED TRAP AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS HILL. James Walker on the left.
At mini roundabout turn left towards Town Centre.
At next mini roundabout by Wordsworths House drive straight on down Main Street, follow this road through the Town Centre. You will start heading up hill out of the town on Castlegate Drive towards Embelton with houses on your left and fields on your right.
The school is on the left at the top of Castlegate Drive after the houses.

Directions from Oakhurst Roundabout - Sheep and Wool Centre on the A66.(From Keswick-Egremont).

Take A5086 exit towards Cockermouth. Past the ESSO Garage on left hand side.
Continue along Lamplugh Road towards the Town Centre to a set of traffic lights, and turn left, passing Fairfieldschool on the right.
At the mini- roundabout by Wordsworths House turn right onto Main Street, follow this road through the Town Centre. You will start heading up hill out of the town on Castlegate Drive towards Embelton with houses on your left and fields on your right.
The school is on the left at the top of Castlegate Drive after the houses.

Directions from Workington, A66/A595 Roundabout.

Take exit towards Cockermouth. Go straight on at the Lakes Centre roundabout and past Lloyds of Cockermouth on left hand side. At the mini roundabout go straight on towards Town Centre. At the next mini roundabout by Wordsworths House drive straight on down Main Street, follow this road through the Town Centre. You will start heading up hill out of the town on Castlegate Drive towards Embelton with houses on your left and fields on your right.
The school is on the left at the top of Castlegate Drive after the houses.

Ample parking is available at the school, changing rooms are to the right of the main school building opposite the path leading to the pitches.
