Under 8's

Children in year 3  from September can attend training and start to learn the basic skills of football.  they can then start to play U8's matches against other teams to allow the players to experience match football and grow in confidence. No league tables are produced and results are not published in the newspapers.

The emphasis is very much on having fun and enjoying playing football with other children of the same age. 

 

In season 2011/2012 we have registered the under 8's in the Penrith ad District Youth league who will organise 'festivals' once a month were all the teams in the league are invited to one venue to play each other in one day. We took the under 7's to three of these festivals last season at Penrith which were very enjoyable and superbly organised. The Cockermouth team competed very well against teams which were mainly a year older and in the last of the three festivals they played a few under 7 teams and played very well with Nife, Gabriel, Haydn, Sam, Harry, Kian and Jay all scoring their first goals! we are sure there are many more to come!

This is also a good opportunity for parents and carers to get involved with the Club as Coaches, on the Committee or just helping out. Full training and support is given.
